Lionel Oscar Segal – Composer & Founder

Pictures of Life composer and lyricist Lionel Oscar Segal was born in Glasgow, and has enjoyed a long and adventurous career in many different fields, and has worked with the true legends of music, film and fashion.

Lionel won a nationwide song writing competition aged 17, and at 18 gained a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. In his first year he wrote a musical version of the classic Louisa May Alcott novel Little Women, which received high praise from critics and was followed by a contract to Sir Michael Balcon and MGM Studios in America.

Lionel composed several more musicals for the stage including World In My Pocket, Pied Piper and Alice In Wonderland.

Little Women: The Musical was re-imagined as a concert performance for the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London, where it premiered with an all-star cast, narrated by Sandi Toksvig. The production then ran successfully at the Lost Theatre,Vauxhall and was nominated as “Best New Musical” in the Off West End Theatre Awards in 2012.

After graduating from Cambridge in Modern Languages, Andrew had a long career in investment bankjng and private equity in the UK and internationally. Andrew now undertakes business advisory roles, including selective fund raising assignments in the educational and cultural fields.

Ken Dearsley has enjoyed a long career, with two major law firms, in a wide range of media and sports related matters, undertaken in the UK, Europe, America, India, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. Ken has specialised in film, film finance, television, music, sports broadcasting rights, theatre,publishing and intellectual property rights generally, and has lectured on a wide range of topics around the world.

Estelle Beverley Hilton - Non Executive Director

Beverley Hilton was Editorial Director of the successful and enterprising partwork company Eaglemoss Publications for many years. Before that she was an Editor with Marshall Cavendish Publications and Editor of House Beautiful Magazine.

Robert Hilton - Non Executive Director

Rob is Project Director for a global consultancy firm and has a breadth of experience that spans 20 years in the engineering industry. He has a tenacity for solving complex problems and is eager to ‘give back’ to the world that he cherishes, and to leave a lasting legacy for his young family and the rest of the world.

Richard Darbourne Ltd

Richard Darbourne set up Richard Darbourne Ltd (RDL) as a London-based theatre and events production and general management company and in 2015 Richard also became a producer for the Ambassadors Theatre Group.

Richard founded Living Learning in 2006 with Paul O’Mahony with the aim of inspiring confidence in mathematics, classics and modern languages through a series of specially written plays and workshops. Since then, the company has delivered hundreds of workshops around the UK with children of all ages, making education accessible by approaching it creatively.
